The Galleries of First Friday Art Walk invite you to the Downtown Arts District Oct. 16 to enjoy Center City Saturday, a day of fun, free, family-friendly activities for all.

FREE MOVIES. Visit Hollywood Theaters, 415 W. College, for a FREE showing of Kung Fu Panda, at 10 a.m. only. Enjoy the adventures of Po the Panda, voiced by Jack Black, as he attempts to master martial arts as a Dragon Warrior. Or drop by the Park Central Branch Library on the Square for a Marathon of Family-Friendly Films all day on the main stage. FREE ART DAY AT THE CREAMERY. The Creamery Arts Center, 411 N. Sherman Parkway, presents Free Art Day, 10 a.m.-noon during Center City Saturday. Enjoy fall-themed fun including 3-D paper pumpkins, autumn leaf ornaments, painting a ceramic bowl, decorating a goodie bag and storytelling. Sponsored by the Junior League of Springfield, Free Art Day is open to all ages and skill levels; no registration is required and there is no cost. Also, while you’re at The Creamery, enjoy its ongoing display Pure Enjoyment, featuring 100 juried artworks from the Meramec Region. Center City Saturday is a collaborative downtown happening presented the third Saturday of each month by members of First Friday Art Walk and the Downtown Springfield Association. Designed as a casual, family-friendly daytime event, Center City Saturday strives to introduce visitors of all ages to the art, culture, entertainment, fashion, food and fun of the Downtown Arts District.
