First Friday Art Walk announces winners of 13th Anniversary Art Contest & Exhibition
First Friday Art Walk and OTC Fine Art Gallery at The Gillioz are proud to announce the winners of Art Walk’s 13th Anniversary Art Contest & Exhibition. More than 50 works of art were submitted for judging including paintings, drawings, ceramics, photos, mixed media and jewelry. Top winners received ribbons and cash prizes totaling $500; four Honorable Mention honorees were awarded ribbons.
For the second year running, Artist Marion DeCocq took top honors. DeCocq’s oil painting The Fairy Formation earned both the Grand Prize and People’s Choice Awards. The People’s Choice was voted on by visitors to the Oct. 3 Art Contest Exhibition. Last year, DeCocq took Grand Prize and People’s Choice for his oil painting Seigneurs de la vie et la mort.
Second place in this year’s competition went to Artist Cathy Clemens for her raku ceramic Vase IV, and Artist Hannah Smother won Third Place for her watercolor Fog.
Four artists were singled out for Honorable Mentions: Artist Susie Sharpe was honored for her acrylic and mixed media piece Three Violins; Artist Kevin Whitworth was honored for his digital photo Turn to Clear Vision; Artist Cathy Cook was honored for her jewelry entry Copper Blossoms; and Artist Rachel Chemnitzer was honored for her mixed media piece War on Terror.
